The 11th International Scientific Conference RURAL DEVELOPMENT 2023:

Bioeconomy for the Green Deal

26-28 September, 2023

The Conference opens a cycle of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy

PROGRAMME

Vytautas Magnus University

Akademija, Kaunas district, Lithuania

Dear Participants of the Conference,

We are pleased to invite you to participate already in the 11thInternational Scientific Conference “Rural Development 2023: Bioeconomy for the Green Deal”. It has already become a biannual tradition to meet colleagues and partners from all over the world here. In addition, we are pleased that this event became a common area for international scientific.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy, which is developing due to the challenges of smart growth of agriculture and the bioeconomy. VMU Agriculture Academy is a place where people, who like nature and technologies, work and study. Our Academy is becoming more and more advanced in science and more open to society for cooperation and sharing of knowledge. The Mission of the Academy is the cultivation of the community spirit, partnership, and long-standing traditions in line with the global, scientific, and political trends for the development and dissemination of knowledge in the agricultural biotechnology, ecosystems, engineering, and social sciences to support the sustainable development of bioeconomy and rural areas, and for creation of conditions for the leaders of these sectors to grow, develop, and contribute to the provision of quality food and fully-fledged living environment for every human, in harmony with the nature. We are able to do more „step by step“ with global changes and innovations by sharing innovative ideas, experiences, and results of our research. The existing and rising challenges of the Green deal and the role of bioeconomy in these processes will be discussed in different Conference sections:

  • Agro-innovations and Food Technologies;
  • Biosystems Engineering and Environment Integrity;
  • Multifunctional Approach for Sustainable Use of Bio-Resources;
  • Social Research for Sustainable Bioeconomy and Climate Change.

Together we can create synergy from broad participation from different sectors of society, scientists, practitioners, policymakers, private sector actors, NGOs, and even young researchers, and students. All the participants will be awarded the possibility to express their attitude toward the scientific issues related to rural development, especially in the focus on the Green deal and bioeconomy challenges.
